DIGITAL COLLAGE This poster was created as part of my Digital Tools class at University of Houston. It is a digital collage created using photos found online, and images scanned in, one of which is a vintage love letter I scanned. The piece is a comment on the technology of today and if given to those in the past, would have been utilized in very similar ways. EVENT POSTER This poster for a fake art show was created as part of my photoshop class at University of Houston. Hierarchy is used to neatly convey the information. MODERNIST COLLAGE These collages were created as part of my Graphic Design Software class. The pieces (inspired by Laszlo Maholy-Nagy) are a take on communication in the digital age, and then contrasted with the communication of the past. The bold lines against the stark white background and juxtaposition of modern design bring a loud tone to the pieces and represent the impact of communication in the digital age. SENSORY CAFE This piece was created in my Intermediate Graphic Design class. The object was to take multiple objects and set up a scene to evoke the senses. We then photographed the scene and played with typography to get a feel of how each element interacted. WATER WORLDS This piece was created in my Intermediate Graphic Design class. The object was to take multiple objects and set up a scene to evoke the senses. We then photographed the scene and played with typography to get a feel of how each element played with each other. QUOTE POSTER This piece was created in my Digital Tools class. We were shown how to use a variety of adobe programs and then instructed to create a poster from a quote. BOOK COVERS These pieces were created in my History of Graphic Design class. Each week we were instructed to create a piece demonstrating the era of design learned in class. For two of my pieces I ended up creating book covers. COLOR COMPOSITIONS These compositions were created during my Colors Materials and Methods class. Each piece was to demonstrate what was learned in Fundamentals of Graphic Design about the relationship between shapes. However, we then had to throw in color relationships too. We had four compositions to practice each of the following color relationships, complementary, analogous, triadic, and monochromatic. Theme Stylizations This piece was created in my Intermediate Graphic Design class. We were given a list of themes in which we had to design four symbols and four text compositions for. These icons were then taken and we turned them into a repeating pattern. The theme I chose was heaven and hell. DAY & NIGHT STAMPS These stamps are a study on color that I created during my Colors Materials and Methods class. The stamps were to be simplified drawings of a landmark, in two different color schemes to correlate with day and night. OBJECT STYLIZATION These three keys were created as part of my Fundamentals of Graphic Design course. The brief was to take an everyday object, and stylize it via silhouette, geometric shapes, gesture, line, and contrast. I experimented with keeping the key very identifiable, and progressing to a more abstract piece. The final stylization is inspired by the Bauhaus style.
